Abstract:  The process underlying social Orthodox theology, which corresponds to the ethics of the eastern Church, stands today in an extremely complex horizon from the cultural, ideological, political and juridical points of view. The most consistent challenges addressing the definition of man come from the very sciences that advocate in its favour. Therefore, the bioethical debate unveils at least two major competing anthropological trends. This challenge represents an invitation for the social theology of the orthodox Church to restate its own grounding principles concerning.
