  Abstract:  Omul este om din momentul conceperii. Fiinţa umană rămâne fiinţă umană indiferent de dimensiunile pe care le are şi de mediul în care trăieşte. Unde apare o întrerupere a acestei dezvoltări avem de-a face cu o ucidere . Convingerea că viaţa începe odată cu concepţia este solid argumentată în Revelaţia biblică. Din perspectivă ortodoxă, calitatea de persoană este conferită de către Dumnezeu şi nu de dezvoltarea fiziologică, de analizele medicale, sau de convenţiile sociale, aşa cum spune şi psalmistul: ,,Cunoaşteţi că Domnul, El este Dumnezeul nostru; El ne-a făcut pe noi şi nu noi” (Ps. 99, 2).
