	Rezumat: The study is a short exegeses of Ex 20:1-17 also presenting several aspects of the Decalogue, like: the number of commandments in different church traditions, other types of law texts in the Old Testament etc. The main part of the study explains verse by verse the biblical chapter containing the ten commandments. The Hebrew expressionare analyzed and their implication on the understanding of the commandmentsis presented. Keywords: Olt Testament exegeses, Decalogue, Hebrew expressions.
