God wanted to reconcile the people with himself# Therefore he chose and sent his Son to mankind# The goal of Jesus’ sending was teaching and preaching #Mk 1,38–39; Mt 4,17; 9,35; Lk 4,43; 8,1## In him appeared the word of God and in the same time he proclaimed the gospel#

As the sent one of the Father he accomplished the will of the Father. He pro­claimed that the kingdom of his Father drew near #Mk 1,15; cf. Mt 4,17#, and he expressed the will of the Father: that the people should repent, should be reconciled through him with God and so inherit the kingdom. In addition to preaching and teaching he cured #Mk 1,30–34; 6,5; Mt 4,23-24; 8,15; Lk 5,24-25; 6,10#, cleansed the leprous #Mk 1,40–42; Mt 8,3; Lk 17,12–14#, restored the lost health of people #avpokaqi,sthmi – Mk 3,5; cf. Mt 12,13; Lk 6,10; Mk 8,25#, he cast out devils #Mk 1,23–27; Mt 8,32; Lk 4,35# and raised people from the dead #Mk 5,41–42; cf. Mt 9,25; Lk 7,14–15#. All these were signs and miracles, which accompanied and verified the authenticity of his message. The healings and miracles of Jesus have had not a magic character. Through them he preached the beginning of God’s kingdom, therefore they could be perceived as the signs of this kingdom. In Mt 11,4, as an answer to John the Baptist’ question, he enumerates his miracles, and with doing this he refers to the eschatological character of his deeds.
