	Rezumat: Two problems related to communicational situation of debate are treated in this paper. On the one hand those arguments are reviewed that question the role of any debate, followed by the refutation of these arguments. On the other hand, logic''s "imperfect" functioning is shown in ordinary''s debates, using as starting point several types of arguments: casual, by signs, analogy, examples. The author draws the conclusion that in spite of the theoretical and methodological difficulties, debate is the proper optimal way of handling a situation where partners find themselves in opposition or in conflict.
