SYNTHESIS AND STABILIZATION OF GOLD NANOPARTICLES BY GELATIN BIOPOLYMER. Autori: DANA MANIU. |

Rezumat: In the present paper we investigated the ability of Gelatin biopolymer to act as both reducing and stabilizing agent in the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) with controlled size. The obtained GNPs were characterized by surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, zeta potential and fluorescence measurements. We found that Gelatin concentration plays an important role in controlling the size of synthesized GNPs. Specifically, a lower Gelatin concentration leads to the formation of larger GNPs in a short time while a higher Gelatin concentration enables the synthesis of smaller GNPs but in a longer time. However, a Gelatin concentration too high prevents the formation of GNPs. Although there are several methods to prepare GNPs, the method presented here is attractive as being completely “green” method to provide in a “one-pot” synthesis both stabilized and biocompatibilized GNPs. The bio-synthesized GNPs can become ideal candidates for biomedical applications. Keywords: Gold nanoparticles; Gelatin; Bio-synthesis |
