Rezumat: A method for obtaining supported nickel catalysts is a chemical one that involves four steps described in the following pages. Reduction is one of these steps and it can be analyzed by temperature programmed reduction technique. In this paper we investigate the reduction behavior of the NiO in different cases. For data acquisition we used a home-made setup also described in the paper. The temperature for reduction of NiO depends on the presence and the chemical nature of the support. The first case discussed is that of the pure NiO reduction as a function of temperature. The present paper also describes the reduction of NiO in the presence of Al2O3, Cr2O3 and MgO as supports. Different values for the temperatures corresponding to the maximum hydrogen consumption during the reduction of NiO are discussed. Keywords: supported nickel catalysts, TPR, NiO reduction, active metal – oxide support interaction. |
