  Rezumat:  Considerations Concerning the Purchasing Process. Perhaps the most important feature of procurement procedures is the communication and coordinative impact they have on other operating units throughout the organization. Purchasing and its related materials functions cannot flourish alone. They need the understanding, cooperation, and respect of the operating units they work with and serve. Enlightened policies coupled with sound operating procedures estabilish the foundation on which this relationship is built. This approach emphasizes the qualitative aspect of activities of purchasing departament (recognition of need, description of the need, selection of sources, negotiation, price determination, placing the order, follow-up the order, maintenance of records, and professional vendor relations).
