  Rezumat:  Regional development strategies’ elaboration has to be based on scientific analysis of particular situation of regions. This paper''s purpose is to contribute to the knowledge about differences on regions in level and dynamics of labour force productivity, measured by indicator: GDP/employment. The first part of our analysis includes two phases: I. comparative analysis of regions, against the country level; II. the study of labour productivity dynamics for the period 1993-1999. To understand labour productivity’s evolution, we realised the analysis, in the same phases, of the main factors of productivity: GDP and employment, on which we will focus more in the second part of the paper.
