  Rezumat:  The Application of the Flaw Tree Method to the Study of the Reliability of Systems. The present study aims at introducing the flaw tree model in the estimation of the functioning of a complex technical system. Besides the theoretical considerations, it also presents an example of practical application. The tree-type analysis has numerous advantages such as: the possibility of a detailed system analysis from the point of view of its safety; it gives a visual image of the defective functioning of the system, it detects the minimal flaws of the system providing the basis for reshaping the system with the purpose of eliminating the weak points of the project.
