Rezumat:   Contributions to the Study of the Mineral Water Springs of Baraolt Depression. At a large scale of integration, Baraolt Depression is part of the mofetta area of the Eastern Carpathian range. After defining the actual limits of the depression, it was possible to identify 44 mineral water springs aligned along the faults that cross the depression. Based on some local natural and human imposed factors (accessibility), 35 were selected for this study. Measurements regarding the temperature, pH and conductivity and chemical analyses for the free CO2 and the HCO3 were made in May and August 2011 and January 2012. The collected data helped in trying to identify the aquifer these springs originate from, to make correlations among their physical and chemical characteristics, to emphasize their seasonal fluctuations. The data offer also possibilities to group, to classify these mineral waters. But it seems that a long term seasonal monitoring proceedings of these parameters are necessary to establish rules, if there are any, according to which the activity of these post volcanic phenomena develop.

Keywords: post volcanic activity, mineral water spring, conductivity meter, total dissolved mineral salt.
