  Rezumat:  Evolution of the Population in Mureşană Plain (Transylvania Plain). The Mureş River Plains represent a well individualized natural and relatively uniformly populated natural unit. In this study there have been taken into account the natural conditions and the historical and geographical framework the Plains have in the evolution and the distribution of the population from the oldest times until present. The highlighting of the main geodemographical characteristics of The Mureş river Plains needs, for a general view, the tracking of the evolution of the inhabitants’ number and the territorial distribution of the population. For this purpose there has been drawn up a graphical record of the evolution of the population for the period 1850-2002 and maps for the periods 1850-1930, 1930-1966, 1966-1992 and 1992-2002.
