Rezumat:  The Evolution of Habitual System and of Functional Hierarchy of the Settlements from Lăpuş Country in the Second Half of 19th Century and the 20th Century. This study is a completion of previous two articles published in Studia UBB, Geographia, no. 1/2004 and 1/2005 (focused upon the evolution of the settlements’ system between the 13th and 16th centuries, respectively between the 17th century and the first part of 19th century). It approaches, in a spatial-temporal snapshot, the evolution of the settlements’ system from Lăpuş Land in the period comprised between the second part of 19th century and the 20th century. The paper has in view to highlight the existence, appearance and role of institutions and functions with a coordinating role (administrative, economic, religious etc.) – on the basis of the center-periphery relations – as well as their impact upon the organizing of the regional space in this period. Within this context, another aspect was spotlighted (especially regarding the role of administrative function and the demographic growth in this process), namely the fact that this phase corresponds with the consolidation of the settlements system, of the social-economic system of Lăpuş Land and the individualization as a open functional regional system.
