The Spacial-geographical Sizes of the Rural Tourism Arrangements in the Carpathian Region. The first part of the paper highlights the rural tourism features, as well as of the conditions of rural tourism dissemination after 1990 under the legislative aspect and as concerns the organization and the involvement of the state and non-governmental organisms in its sphere. The analysis is motivated by the presentation of the rural settlements situated in the mountainous regions that are very much involved in this activity. Furtheron, the study presents the spacial repartion of rural tourism, with the involved rural households that override 4000 places. The extension of the phenomenon is unequal, both as concerns the implication of a number of villages as the number of households in the frame of villages. There are also spotlighted and explained specific situations of counties, which became standards in this field (Maramureş, Braşov, Alba, Harghita, Bistriţa-Năsăud), as compared with others which have just begun this sort of activity (Mureş, Buzău, Vâlcea, Dâmboviţa, Arad etc.).
