Summer Temperature Variations during the Last Century above Taklimakan Desert. By analyzing the isotopic ratio δ¹⁸O variation trend, the summer temperature variations during the last century above Taklimakan Desert were reconstructed. The summer temperature of middle-upper troposphere increased with about 1. 477 ⁰C in 90 years. The temperature in surrounding Taklimakan Desert is significantly correlated with the δ¹⁸O in the Chongce ice core, especially at Hotan station. Combined with Hotan temperature, the temperature curve above Taklimakan was reconstructed by using the δ¹⁸O of 1903-1953 as interpolation. The summer temperature of Taklimakan Desert as represented by Hotan has increased by 0. 9 ⁰C.
