  Rezumat:  The recently‐inaugurated U.S. President was, undoubtedly, elected on a ticket of change. We shall try, in the following, investigate the doctrinaire sources standing at the groundwork of Barack Obama’s foreign policy design and attempt a brief anaysis of the strengths and weaknesses of his approach towards international relations, with the main focus on the shifts the newly‐inaugurated Administration has to operate on the nation’s foreign policy agenda.
