Rezumat: We may say, paraphrasing, that ten years are significant in a person’s lifetime, but nevertheless, is short time for an institution. The Faculty of European Studies, within the “Babeş-Bolyai” University – the first one in this field from Romania and from Eastern Europe – celebrates its 10th anniversary. In the meantime, the initiative born one decade ago, no only has had effects, but its favourable outcomes are convincing. It is relevant to just take a look at the Faculty’s current academic structure: three major lines of study (International Relations – European Studies; The Management of European Institutions; American Studies), competitive MA programs (Comparative European Studies; American Studies; German Studies; Anthropology and Multicultural Studies; Advanced Management, Labour and Human Resources; Cultural Management; European Affairs and Project Cycle Management), one doctoral school (The European Paradigm), four chairs (European Studies and Cultural Anthropology; International Relations and Community Law; Management of European Institutions and The History and Methodology of Science), with productive research institutes (The Institute of European Researches; The Institute of Cultural Anthropology; The Institute of German Studies), specialized libraries (The Library of European Studies; The Library of German Studies; The Library of American Studies), a good international assistance and an impressive number of graduates with competitive skills and qualifications. The Faculty of European Studies is itself a complex of specialized units within a university of a special cultural, linguistic, professional complexity. | |||||||
