  Rezumat:  The Al Jazeera English broadcast presents a nuanced image of the European Union, but not without accents of criticism. Still, the European Union is seen as a significant global actor, not only in the economic area, but also as a cultural and civilization model, and as an international, geopolitical player, especially in the Mediteranean area. The European Union and/or its member states are presented as having a multi-level involvement in the events related to the Arabian Spring (Egypt, Libia, Syria). The EU and its members are shown as actors whose actions are based on law, on the legitimacy offered by UN resolutions, that promote the spread of ideas related to democratic political structures, freedom of expression and gathering, and human rights.
