  Rezumat:  The study presents the main features of the journalistic style and the way the fuctions of the language are being activated in the frame of journalistic communication. The study is analisings the matter of the functins of the journalistic language and is presenting how the main functions of the language are emphasised in the journalistic discourse. Several concrete aspects of the journalistic discourse are being discussed, underlining the way how the sensational and the violence of language are being activated in the journalistic language.
